Big Money Bought the GOP Primary – Status Quo Upheld

Demuth Wins with Help from Out-of-State Billionaire and Casino Money

The St Paul Swamp is rejoicing this morning – one of their own emerged victorious in the GOP Primary, beating out the MNGOP endorsed candidate, Kendall Qualls, and the one who received the Trump endorsement, Mike Lindell. Lisa Demuth is no outsider. She’s a politician who has been in the legislature since 2019 and voted over and over again to grow our behemoth, fraud-ridden government.

Her campaign lacked grassroots support from the beginning. But she had a long list of lobbyists, staffers and politicians on Team Demuth ready to do what they could to get one of their own as the Party’s candidate in November – including lying about abiding by the MNGOP endorsement. Now they are all declaring victory this morning that the Party’s endorsement is “dead.”

Let’s be honest, Demuth didn’t really have tough competition in the primary. The MNGOP’s incompetent leader did everything he could to help Lisa, while undermine his own Party’s endorsed candidate. And the perceived frontrunner, Mike Lindell, had a horribly mismanaged campaign that didn’t have the first clue on winning strategies for Minnesota Republican primaries.

Demuth had an ace up her sleeve the whole time that really tilted things in her favor. She attracted the attention of big money interests, including an out-of-state billionaire who put up over $2 Million of his own money in an independent expenditure committee called Restore Sanity. Between a casino, Washington D.C. Establishment money and some other wealthy donors, the committee raised and spent over $3 Million to buy the election for Demuth.

What favors will be owed for that?

Restore Sanity was disciplined. They started a mailing campaign to primary voters back in February to build up Lisa’s name ID. They were on network tv with ads in May, before Lisa was even a filed candidate for the primary. On top of that, they ran digital ads and text messaging campaigns to trick voters into believing Lisa was actually a “conservative fighter.”

In reality, Lisa is an F rated legislator on the Action 4 Liberty scorecard and an F rated legislator on the Legislative Evaluation Assembly – the two conservative scorecards in the state.

Furthermore, Demuth has voted to fund the fraud programs in the state, grew government, refused to give back the surplus to taxpayers, passed gun control legislation and voted to fund taxpayer funded abortions.

She represents the status quo of St Paul politics which is leading to the slow demise of this once great state. If we continuously elect insider politicians, we won’t change the politics in Minnesota. Thinking so is the definition of insanity.

Let me make a prediction. In the next few days, there will be many politicos and politicians who will begin lecturing us to unite to “beat the Democrats.” These are the same people who decided not to unite with the Party’s delegates in May and would have never united with Mike Lindell if he was the nominee. But hey – rules for thee, not for me!

Conservatives are in a lose-lose situation here. Join forces with the Republican Establishment and their milquetoast leaning candidate, and all that effort is likely to be wasted as Klobuchar is heavily favored to win in this very likely blue wave election year. Your efforts won’t go towards building a long lasting movement for liberty. As soon as Demuth loses, she’ll take a sweet lobbying gig and be taken care of. You, however, won’t be any closer to getting conservative policies in our state.

Let’s say, somehow, Lisa Demuth shocks us all and pulls off a win in November. It’s unlikely, but always possible. What’s the win? Do we get smaller government? Do we get our surplus back? Will the Never Again Bill be signed into law? Will we pass Stand your Ground or Constitutional Carry?

Of course not!

The “win” will be Team Red is in power instead of Team Blue. Those favors that are owed to her big money backers will be taken care of for sure – that’s how the game is played. But the issues that are important to you, will be tossed to the side because Team Red will quickly moderate to the middle since they believe that’s the winning strategy for re-election in 2030.

Don’t fall for the Team Red vs Team Blue fallacy.

Politics will NOT change for the better until we start electing a different type of candidate. It’s up to our younger generation of voters to change the voting patterns in this country. I look forward to focusing on that effort instead of helping the status quo of today.
