The Unanswered Questions about Trump’s Assassination Attempt

Yesterday, the Director of the Secret Service, Kim Cheatle, testified in front of Congress on the assassination attempt of Donald Trump. Her testimony was so bad that both Republicans and Democrats called for her resignation, which she tendered this morning. She dodged many basic questions the American people want to know and didn’t seem to have a timeline put together of the events that led up to the shots fired at Trump.

Here’s what we think needs an immediate answer: How did 20 year old Thomas Crooks take a position on roof top, 140 yards from the former president and fire off eight rounds over 26 seconds before being shot and killed by a counter sniper?

Cheatle said the building the shooter was on was outside the Secret Service’s perimeter, but it clearly was identified as a key location for a potential threat.

Crooks was identified as a “person of interest” 62 minutes before he fired his first shots. He was even witnessed using a range finder, which Cheatle said was not a “banned” item at campaign events.

Secret Services observed him on the rooftop a whole 20 minutes beforehand, according to multiple reports. The snipers were at a distance where their binoculars would’ve easily shown he was a threat to the former president. Plus, doesn’t secret service utilize drones?

The infamous video of rally attendees screaming at law enforcement when they saw a gunman on the rooftop, happened two minutes before the first shot was fired.

Then there was the actual shots…

Crooks takes a total of eight shots we believe, although Cheatle wouldn’t confirm how many shell casings were found on the rooftop. It took 26 seconds for the counter sniper team to shoot and kill Crooks. What?!

Congressman Eli Crane (R-AZ), who was a Navy SEAL sniper, visited the site in Butler, PA and had this to say:

These questions need answers! Otherwise the American public is either led to believe that our Secret Service is an incompetent, non-mission ready organization OR there was purposeful security gaps that day, at the guidance of someone or some entity, that was supposed to lead to Trump’s death.

Which answer gives us most comfort?
