Citing the Ukraine war, the war on free speech and the war on our children’s health as the key reasons for his presidential run, RFK Jr took the podium in Arizona Friday afternoon to announce he is suspending his campaign out of fear that continuing it would help Kamala Harris win. Kennedy not only believed Kamala would be terrible as president on those issues, she wouldn’t even agree to meet with him to discuss their importance.
On the other hand, RFK Jr and Trump have conversed many times recently and according to Kennedy, Trump himself, his sons and some of his top donors welcomed RFK Jr to help lead on those issues in a second term in the White House, if Trump is elected in November.
The endorsement of Trump was highly anticipated after Kennedy’s running mate, Nicole Shanahan, mentioned earlier this week that they were likely to do it. Yesterday, Kennedy officially removed his name for candidacy on the Arizona ballots.
According to RFK Jr in the press conference, he will still remain on ballots in the reliably red and blue states and encouraged supporters to vote for him there. But his campaign would be withdrawing his name in the battleground states.
Fox News shows the current Real Clear Politics polling matchup between Trump/Harris/RFK. Most analysts, including the Truth Hurts Show crew, believe he takes more votes from Trump now that Biden is out of the race:
The best part of RFK Jr’s speech today was when he exposed the corruption by the Democrat Party and the mainstream media in rigging the primaries and bringing forward a candidate in Kamala who doesn’t have to debate or even sit down for an interview.
Kennedy tore into the Democrat Party by accusing them of “waging lawfare” against Trump and himself, running a “sham” primary, and the “shadowy DNC operatives” who ran the coup against Biden, orchestrated the takeover of the presidential candidate spot with someone who hasn’t won a vote or done an unscripted public event in 35 days.
“Instead of showing us her substance and character, the DNC and its media organs, engineered a surge of popularity for Vice President Harris based upon nothing, no policies, no interviews, no debates, only smoke and mirrors…and balloons and a highly produced Chicago circus.”
RFK Jr ended the speech on an emotional appeal to save the children of this country who are being led down a path of health failure by the corruption of big money interest in politics. While he alluded to his wife, actress Cheryl Hines, and other people in his family not being happy about the support for Trump, he believes the best thing he can do to stop the epidemic of childhood obesity is work with someone who is willing to let him lead on that issue.
Kennedy made it very clear that Trump was opening the door that Kamala and the Democrat power brokers kept closed to him. So Kennedy suspended future operations of his campaign and threw his support behind Donald Trump.
