Long time Minnesota company, Arctic Cat, announced it is shutting down manufacturing operations in Minnesota at it’s plants in Thief River Falls and St Cloud. Arctic Cat will remain open temporarily to sell current inventory and fulfill customer services.
A press release from Arctic Cat’s parent comapny, Textron Inc, reads:
In response to the ongoing business conditions facing the powersports industry, Arctic Cat will suspend manufacturing operations indefinitely at our facilities in Thief River Falls and St. Cloud, Minnesota, after planned production in the first half of 2025 is complete.
Textron Inc. also announced that it is exploring strategic alternatives regarding the future of the powersports business. These actions are difficult but necessary as we have continued to experience softness in consumer end-market demand, resulting in a need to reduce costs.
Arctic Cat went woke a couple years ago. As Action 4 Liberty reported, they were a sponsor of St Cloud PRIDE which hosted a drag show that included reduced tickets for children. Attendees were encouraged to “bring plenty of dollars” to “tip the performers.” Marketing material also stated “please make sure our performers are respected by not touching/grabbing/hugging etc unless you ask first.”
The company was also acknowledged as a “Bronze level” sponsor to St Cloud PRIDE.
