A bill (SF 3496) is moving through the Democrat controlled Minnesota legislature that would prohibit content creators from having children in their content – a totally harmless activity in most cases. Popular shows like the Outdoor Boys, which is a family favorite in my household, would no longer be able to have content featuring children under 14 that makes up 30% or more of the month’s content.
The bill’s Senate author, Sen Erin Maye Quade, believes children are being exploited and working against the state’s labor law to create online content, even though acknowledging there are exceptions for things like babysitting (or working on family farms).
In the Labor Committee today, Maye Quade also argued that minors are being exploited (presumably by parents) in online content creation and in many cases, in a sexually exploited way. She uses an example of children eating banana’s in “suggestive” ways. She offered an amendment that passed the committee which prohibits minors under the age of 14 from “engaging in the work” of content creation.
No one in their right mind would like to see children sexually exploited in online content. Of course, what qualifies as sexual exploitation is an interpretation that legislation will not be able to solve. It’s interesting that Sen Maye Quade is leading the charge on this – she was in attendance last year at the Minnesota Capitol rotunda when a man dressed in drag, sexually danced in front of minors on camera. Maye Quade was seen in the background smiling, clapping and cheering on the spectacle.
See video of Maye Quade discussing sexual exploitation in committee today and the film of her at the drag show with minors:
What a joke to lectured by leftists politicians like Maye Quade about sexual exploitation of children. If she really wanted to be taken serious here, she should join our call for ending the grooming of young children with the LGBT agenda.
But they have no problems with, even promoting, sexual exploitation of kids in schools. No surprise though, Democrat rhymes with hypocrite.
